During the course of a meeting that took place on 16th June 2021 with the chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary Anthony, His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, conveyed his words of support to His Beatitude Onuphrius, metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine and the fullness of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

“Please convey to my beloved brother His Beatitude Onuphrius all my love and respect. We know of his love and support. And rest assured that we shall always be with you,” said the Most Blessed Patriarch John X.

According to the head of the Representation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to European International Organizations the bishop of Barysh Victor, these words of support to the faithful of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church are very important “as, in a situation whereby the other Local Orthodox Churches are being pressurized by the Phanar’s ‘partners’, the support of Patriarch John looks like an act of confessing the faith.”

“Today the Patriarch spoke according to the intimations of his heart,” bishop Victor noted in his Telegram account. “So, we hope that these words of His Beatitude will be uttered more than once. We sincerely wish the primate of the Church of Antioch many and blessed years of life. We humbly pray that the Lord will help him in maintaining this stance. Indeed, he who endures to the end will be saved.”
